“Meant to be…” Those were the last words Lexie Grey said to us back in 2012 in the season eight finale of Grey’s Anatomy. Fans have been speculating Little Grey’s return ever since the first shocking reappearance of George O’Malley (T.R. Knight) and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) at the beginning of season 17.

Grey’s Anatomy is a show with many up and downs. From shootings to plane crashes, it is more than just needles and surgeons. Now running for 17 seasons, the ABC drama has quickly become many people’s favorite show.

Chyler Leigh, who first became a regular in season four on the top hit medical drama, has finally reappeared on our screens! Playing Meredith Grey’s younger half-sister, fans have long awaited for this surprise, as many characters have come back to “the beach.”

But many fans have noticed that Leigh’s scenes looked “weird” or a little bit “off.” As she was filming her show, Supergirl, in Vancouver, Leigh actually filmed all her scenes via green screen. This was confirmed by actor Eric Dane (aka Mark Sloan), who along with Leigh, has reappeared as Meredith battles COVID-19. Dane admitted to HollywoodReporter that he was a little upset that his reunion with Leigh wasn’t in person. Having to have worked on the show for more than half a decade, Grey’s Anatomy is a second home to him and he was glad to have worked with Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) again.

Fans also had mixed reactions about their favorite character’s reappearance. Mia, one fan from Turkey, expressed that she screamed when she saw Mark and Lexie on her TV screen. “I was shocked! I was just finishing my homework and I saw her. I was out of words, my mom, who is also a Grey’s fan, couldn’t believe it either…” Another fan from Turkey, Beril, said that she was a little bummed that she had to experience Mark and Lexie coming and leaving again. “Of course, I was happy, they were my favorite couple! But the fact that they weren’t actually filming together disappointed me.”

So, what do you think? Did you expect the surprise reappearance of Lexipedia and McSteamy? Now that everyone is coming back, do you think this is the final season? As a loyal fan myself, I have re-watched the show multiple times and it never disappoints. You could never expect what will happen next with its crazy plot twists! Although it is a commitment (with over 350 episodes), it is definitely worth it at the end. You get so emotionally attached to the characters, making this show a must-watch for everybody.
