The Robinson football team normally has their black and white scrimmage game in the spring, but now it has been moved to the end of the summer.
The new date is August 9th, but that is subject to change. It was originally supposed to be in May, but there were scheduling conflicts that pushed it back to August.
The two teams were drafted earlier in the year by some of the coaches. Any new members to the football team will be drafted onto a team when they join.
Although the scrimmage is still going to happen, the players were not happy about the change.
“The kids were a little bummed.” Coach Craig Everhart said.
In order to compensate them, there will be weekly black and white competitions throughout the summer, such as dance-offs and tug-of-war competitions.
The game is free to attend, and the team will be selling shirts for fundraising
“It’s a great chance for the community to come out and hang out,” Everhart said. “It’s a relaxed setting and it’s a good time for everybody.”
