Junior Mary Johnson recently won the Dreams Take Flight Award. She entered an essay contest based on Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. The essays submitted were about people who inspired you to follow your dreams.

Johnson wrote about her mentor, Melissa. She recently passed away due to cancer and always encouraged Johnson to work hard and find a way to reach her goal of becoming a Classics major.
