Tampa Bay’s most popular event, Jingle Ball, is taking place on Wed., Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. This is the season’s biggest annual music event. It also takes place in Dallas, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Seattle, Chicago, Minneapolis, Atlanta, New York, Boston, Washington D.C. and Miami. The event will feature Robin Thicke, Enrique Iglesias, Miley Cyrus, Paramore, Ariana Grande, and Flo Rida as their “all-star performers.”

Every year 93.3 FLZ gives $1 from each ticket sold to the Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

“The foundation helps raise funds for our pediatric hospitals across the country,” said Meredith Seacrest, executive director.

The annual event also has a free pre-show, which includes performances by 5th Harmony, Travie McCoy, Austin Mahone, and Tegan and Sara.

Tommy Chuck, director of 93.3FLZ, spoke to journalism students about what an event like this means to the Tampa Bay area.

“Jingle Ball is the most anticipated concert event of the year,” said Chuck.

Megan Gulkerson attended last year’s Jingle Ball event.

“The music was really good- I liked Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, Walk of the Moon, and Zed the best,” Gulkerson said. “Ed Sheeran was my favorite, he’s why I went.”

Gulkerson won the tickets by texting in on 93.3FLZ. She got free tickets for herself and two friends.

About the Writer
Isabel Hanewicz, RHStoday Editor-In-Chief

Isabel Hanewicz is a senior at Robinson High School and is the editor-in-chief of RHStoday. She was named the 2014 Emerging Young Journalist of the Year for the state of Florida. Walking without tripping is not one of her talents, so please do not give her any breakable objects. She is also known to slow down computers in the journalism room because she does not like to close tabs (32 tabs, to be exact). When she’s not in the journalism room, she’s probably out running for Robinson’s cross country or track teams, where she is the captain. Follow her on Twitter @isabelhanewicz and @hanewiczphotos
