KNN morning show launches YouTube channel
October 4, 2016
Walking through the hall, Grant Federoll (’17) spots a wild animal- one of the cats of Robinson that has ventured out into student territory. In the court yard there’s a student, the wild TV Production member in their habitat. Role play like this would usually be considered creepy, but for the KNN morning show staff it’s just another day on the job.
Videos like the one above are only one of the many that can be found on KNN’s newly created YouTube channel. From football Friday videos to videos about “The elevator of dank” and its proper uses, the new channel has all types of coverage.
“I think it’s great that KNN is really working hard this year and having a YouTube channel because it shows Robinson what they can do,” Nancy Oben, KNN’s adviser, said.
Last year KNN used a SchoolTube account to make their videos accessible to the public, but this year they decided to make the switch to YouTube since it is more well known.
“I know not everyone watches the morning show so this gives everyone the chance to watch it whenever they want,” Oben said. “It’s a great way to get the Robinson community informed.”
Even though KNN runs the morning show, that isn’t their only job. They also make comedy shorts, parodies and videos to go along with upcoming events.
“Some of the videos are so funny and we only air them for one or two days on the morning show,” Oben said. “So [with] the YouTube account the person who makes the video can show all their friends.”
The morning show airs during second period attendance and homerooms, but day-to-day activities may sometimes prevent students from watching the morning show.
“I know not everyone watches the morning show so this gives everyone the chance to watch it whenever they want. It’s a great way to get the Robinson community informed.” Oben said.
