The Knights came into Tuesday afternoon’s quarterfinal game of the 3a-District 9 tournament with high expectations. Coach Dusold had only a few things that concerned him regarding the game.
“It’s always different playing at Jesuit because the width and turf of the field is like an actual soccer field. We were also a little flat on Friday night against Sickles, that worried me,” he said.
Just like in any sport, if an opposing team hangs around, they will build confidence and believe they can pull out a win.
But the Knights weren’t planning on letting the Tigers hang around.
Winning by a score of 2-0 at the half, the game was controlled by the Knights. “Tonight we definitely dictated the flow,” said Dusold.
The Knights kept their composure throughout the second half while scoring another 4 goals, with a final score of 6-0.
“We will play whoever they put in front of us. I want to see us play a full game as a team. If we can put 80 minutes together while playing our game, I have great confidence in our team,” said Coach Dusold in reference to tonight’s semifinal game vs. Southeast High School. The game will be held at 6p.m. at Jesuit High School.
