Senior Lauren Wheatley signed to play volleyball at Glenville State College in Glenville, West Virginia. Wheatley’s family, coaches, teammates and friends watched as she signed. Wheatley was named Offensive Player of the Year for the Knights volleyball team, and received an all Hillsborough County honorable mention.

“I am so proud of all your accomplishments,” said head coach Christen Garcia. “You will have a great volleyball [career].”

Wheatley finishing her last season with a personal record of 177 kills, 46 blocks, 20 digs and 40 aces. She was a three year starter as a middle hitter. She played a key part in three district titles, a Regional Championship and State Semi-Final appearance.

“I am nervous about meeting the team,” Wheatley said. “Nervous, but excited.”

Wheatley also plans on studying criminal justice while at Glenville State.
