Volleyball Records Highest Finish Yet in Berkeley Tournament

After two consecutive last-place finishes, the Lady Knights volleyball team rallied in this weekend’s Berkeley Invitational to finish 14th out of 24 with a 2-3 record.
“It is a very competitive tournament with several top teams from around the state, and a few traveling from out of state, including the #2 and #3 ranked teams in the country,” said JV coach Shayna Sasse.
18 of the 24 teams who played in the tournament have made the state final four the past two years, including the Lady Knights, and collectively share 60 state titles.
The Lady Knights tallied wins agains Middleburg (25-19, 25-18) and Guillver Prep (21-12, 26-24) and losses against Bishop Moore (13-25, 14-25), Woodward Academy (12-25, 14-25) and Trinity Catholic (22-25, 23-25).
Furman commit Catia Sleet (’16) led the Knights on the weekend with 44 kills and seven blocks, and Emily Draper (’17) added 53 digs. Setter Rebecca Hill (’16) led in assists with 50.
Robinson continues district play next Thursday at Jefferson.
