After a slow start, the Robinson Knights beat the Blake Yellow Jackets 17-1 in Thursday night’s game, leaving the Knights 3-1 in district play after a 4-3 loss to the Jesuit Tigers Tuesday.

Aaron Scott (’17) started things off for the Knights, scoring the game’s first run in the top of the first, followed by a Blake run in the bottom of the first.

Both teams were held scoreless in the second and third innings, but the Knights came back in the top of the fourth to score 10 runs and lead Blake 11-1 going into the bottom of the fourth.

From there, the Knights’ charge went unanswered as pitcher Kristopher Terry (’17), who pitched the first four innings, held the Yellow Jackets to three hitters in the bottom of the fourth.

Most of the Knights’ starters were replaced by non-starters in the top of the fifth, which didn’t stop the Knights from scoring six more runs to up their total to 17. Riley Shackowsky (’17) took over for Terry in the bottom of the fifth and kept the Yellow Jackets at bay, ending the game with a mercy rule and 17-1 score after five innings.

The Knights (4-1) face the Alonso Ravens (3-3) at home Saturday at 1 p.m.
